Foster

Foster homes are one way we can keep our program dogs' costs down (as much as 50%!) while also giving the dogs a chance to really decompress after a busy week of school and work. We welcome weekend, arrival, and training fosters.

Weekend Fosters

Weekend fosters are the best way to enjoy a dog! No need to worry about them during the work week, just enjoy them for the weekend. All supplies and food are provided. Friday PM pickup (prior to 6pm) and Monday drop off (8-9am)

Arrival Fosters

Arrival Fosters are our first line of helping these shelter dogs decompress. You will receive a dog fresh from the shelter and let them spend about 2 weeks in your home. This way we can learn more about their likes and dislikes, their temperament and how they might best succeed in our program. All supplies are provided. Transportation to a vet appointment may be requested.

Training Fosters

Training Fosters are homes for our dogs during the duration of their training. This lowers their cost by almost 50%! These fosters are responsible for dropping off and picking up their dog at Green Acres Monday-Friday. Weekends are free time to enjoy with the dog. These fosters may be able to take their dogs in public spaces depending on the dogs level of training and the fosters wishes.
