At-Home Service Dogs

We strongly believe that at-home service dogs can be just as life-changing as service dogs who can accompany their handlers in public. An at-home service dog still performs trained tasks that actively mitigate their handler's disability. They do have some of the legal privileges and responsibilities of public access-trained service dogs; the exact laws vary by state. Even though they do not go out in public vested and cannot go in non-dog-friendly spaces, they can still do enormous good for their handlers.

An at-home service dog may be a good fit for you if:

  • Your disability has the most significant impact on your life at home (e.g. nighttime drops in blood glucose)

  • You live alone and require assistance most when other people are not around

  • Your dog is not suited to working in public (see our Frequently Asked Questions)

Many at-home service dogs begin task training right away and may do so through owner training or through board & train/day training. Please review information about our programs for details and pricing, as well as our Frequently Asked Questions. We look forward to supporting you on your service dog training journey!

Only the support you need, no public access training required!
